Independence????

Oh My Dear God...Does India ever got Independence...if so from where? Which part of India has freedom...n then from whom?

Are we BLIND to accept the reality and still live in a presumption tht we r INDEPENDENT???

Oh got it...jus b'cuz we were given our OWN land to DIG our OWN Graves....in the Motherlannd...n so we r FREE enough to celebrate the I day???
I feel bad for my fellow Indians to NOT accept the Truth tht we r still not Independent frm foreign Invasions.
On early Hours of 15th August 1947...we "Indians" have been GIVEN or Declared Independent by the people who occupied our Motherland for sooo many years...Good enough...people were in a joyous mood celebrating the ocassion and singin merely in the streets to bid a farwell to the british rule n invitin the newly independent India...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks9xp2Q0D7U&feature=related

Right from the DAY 1 of Independent India...neither the Leaders nor the government could decide as of how are they going to deal wid the people in the sub-continent. Constitution was developed...many adjectives were added to the way government tht will function in the country i.e. democratic....secular...socialistic blh blh blh.....Does our leaders definitely knw wht they r talkin bout....I doubt it!!! Do u realize the significance of it? No....Not sure...Yeah I agree with u on this....cuz how will the "People" in our country can visualize....as the leaders tht we elect promise something on the lines of the above adjectives but end up doin SMETHIN or NOTHING....are they bad....NOPE!!!! So are People in India Not Sure bout wht they r doin???? I have No Doubt bout it....we dont knw wht we r doin...we jus watchin a reality Show everyday....havin fun as they dnt seem to burn our a**....One day will come thn people will realize wht r the biggest mistakes tht we r commitin.....
Why shud we n How dare we can celebrate the I day...Can we forget those brthrs...sisters...mothers...people tht we lost in the religious clashes???? Do we still remember the Dec 6th day? Do we remember GODHRA....arent we sperating ourselves from our brothers wid this religious lines??? Remember the serial blasts recently??? r we safe in this independent India? What is going on wid these Rapes....Deaths...murders...blasts...Scams...Political Fights...Gangwars...r we livin in peace n harmony...

Do we have this "courage in the face of adversity"???
Do we have Peace at Home and at least our Heart???
Do we have GUIDES who showed Way yesterday???
Do we have prosperity for a Happy tommorow???

Yes we need to celebrate our Independence ... but before tht remember wht our forefathers...our great leaders hav done n strugggled for? Gandhi or Nehru or Lal-Bal-Pal or Bhagat singh or Subhash Chandra Bose or ny freedom fighter has awarded or got us freedom wid jus a FALSe Belief tht......we "People Of Free India" will celebrate the freedom n will b UNITED....But it seem to b missin every hour...every min...every sec...n in every thought...

Let us now at least try to make a change...firstly in ourselves...n then our family n then our society n finally in our country....
After all if we r do not have freedom at our heart....n our mind...how can we ever think bout freedom in our country...

On the last note...I would liek to say tht...this article may b jus a thought...I may be composing it for the heck of it....The purpose of this article will b satisfied if I and U can at least think bout this WORTHLESS freedom tht we r enjoyin as Indians n bring in a lil change in ourselves....

JAI HIND!!!

Hey Kalyan..I beg to differ with you on a lot of your thoughts about independent India... While I agree with you that people have become more insensitive to suffering and inevitable victims of the political class, it is not fair to say that the entire political class is working for the detriment of the country..let us not forget the economic reforms and the continued benefits they provide to our population...I have certainly not been able to comprehend your comments regarding "digging our own graves" - I am sure you will agree with me, if I say that such a strong statement would not hold any credibility without ample supporting arguments. There is no doubt, that all forms of violence need to be condemned but sporadic incidents of violence do not make a compelling case to remain the faithful slaves of an alien master.

@ Chetan: Thx dude for ur continuous support...I truly appreciate u in takin time to read thru my Blog Space...

@ Srini...first of all thank u for expressin ur thoughts...

I definitely believe tht there r many reforms tht r being taken up by the "Classy" politicians these dayz...however...those equations r true in the case if these politicians r trying to set up a One-to-One equation wid the people i.e meeting them directly n makin sure tht the loans or new reforms r reachin them...if not then these reforms rnt reachin any "needy"...

To support my arguments on "digging our OWN graves"...I wood like to repeat myself on quotin few examples...right from incidents like Babri Masjid to Godhra...Serial blasts to Scams...Recent Parliament meetings on No Confidence Motions to our state wide assemblies n Gang wars...Birth Control to Molestationz....wht more do we need....

Who knws whtz in the Nuclear Deal...which reforms r we taki nto control the population crisis in India...Do we realize tht out of all the dangerous diseases in the world...Most of them r so prevalent in INDIA...man made Diseases like AIDS etc...we r ranked Number 2 in the world...

Every sec 354 children r born in India...is the borders of India is goin to grow large...Wht r we offferin to next generation...wht r we goin to show as Reforms for the next generation???

I agree completly wid u tht YES thr r reforms tht r startin up....But it is still like a tiny miny minute drop of water on a hot pan...I wish we will bring in some change for tommorowz India....n then proudly call it Independent India...

Hey dude, I regret to note the deficiency of the knowledge of the Indian political system and the evolution of economic reforms in india, in your argument. You conclude by saying that 'reforms are starting up', conveniently forgetting the fact that we all are the products/beneficiaries of economic reforms. We both went to corporate educational institutions and private engineering colleges..i urge you to pause for a moment and imagine your life without an engineering degree..because of lack of sufficient seats in the government engineering colleges (going back to the early 90's and late 80's)....Would this be even possible without liberalization? coming back to your long list of complaints.....i request you to tell me a single country in this world, where there are no challenges and where people lead a utopian life? At 61, India is a reasonably young nation and you being an MBA student, i don't need to remind you that in the most cutthroat corporations, development is measured in increments and profits are reported only on a year on year and quarter on quarter basis. So, on that front, development on a year-year basis has been appreciable at best. Lastly, I would like to remind you, that a free and a democratic country is not a place where government has to do everything...it also calls for equal people participation and in any case, I can assure you that India has enough people who only critique (like you and me :-) ) from hundreds of miles away and desperately needs people who can soil their hands and work on the ground...

Buddy!! I do not deny the facts...This conversation is rather very intrestin n thought provoking....first of all the blog's purpose is satisfied...I always needed this brainstormin session....n it is good to strt a dialogue wid my wrthy frnd....

bak to topic...I agree to disagree wid u... I am playin a loyal opposition as part of this process...Havin said tht...u raised an important point of liberalization...I Agree to tht point.

I support ur argument on Indian liberals having a powerful vision of a prosperous India. But this contrasts radically with the Gandhian-socialist vision of an India composed of self-sufficient villages. Watch out for liberalism... Indian economy was more liberal earlier.... But since Mid 60s it became less and less liberal. Most of the laws that hurt honest Indian businessmen today came from that era.
Ever wondered why a lot of Indians became successful entrepreneur after leaving india. Where as in India very few were able to do it....Anyways I am definitely convinced that liberalisation led to a distinct acceleration of reforms after 80's and 90's...

I would like to make a concrete point on this note tht it is wid our attitude towards the country n its belongings tht we can bring in Change...n definitely these r all the challenges tht we r facing...

Havin said tht..even before bringinin in the reforms or benefits for the people...ther r many priorities tht the Govt of India wid the support of the people....in educating them wid different channels of wisdom...has to bring in harmony n peace....there by makin sure tht the reforms r properly reachin the people in the betterment of the society...

On this point I would also like to agree wid u tht Yes it is very easy to Comment on issues sittin on a wireless grnd thousandz of miles away...but is very important for the people of India to be educated virtually or in person, which can be only possible by conducting some brainstormin session like these in making them THINK bout Present situations and starting on makin resolutions for a better tommorow....
